We are recruiting!

The laboratory of Dr. Orna Issler in the Neuroscience Institute and is part of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Care & Pain Medicine and the Department of Neuroscience & Physiology at NYU Langone Health has exciting opportunities for motivated trainees at all levels.

Reach out to join our adventure in investigating the role of non-coding RNAs in depression and chronic pain.

Applicants are welcome to contact Orna by email and include a CV and a cover letter explaining why they would like to join our team.

  • The Issler laboratory at NYU Langone Health is looking for motivated Postdoctoral Fellows to join our team. Our group aims to shed light on the dark side of the genome, non-coding RNA, in mediating response to stress, the risk of developing depression, and chronic pain with both basic and translational research. To study these questions, we utilize an integrated approach, spanning from mouse to human. We use molecular biology genome-wide and target gene analysis tools, mouse models phenotyping at the behavioral, molecular, and histological levels, and bioinformatic approaches to make sense of omics data.

We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, critical, and inquisitive and has excellent communication skills. The candidate should have a Ph.D. or M.D/Ph.D. in a field such as neuroscience, molecular biology, psychology, or other relevant topics. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in in vivo mice research and sequencing data generation and analysis.

To apply, please send a cover letter detailing your research interests, your CV, and the contact information of three references to orna.issler@nyulangone.org

  • The Issler laboratory warmly invites highly motivated graduate students to work with us in shedding light on the dark side of the genome, non-coding RNA, in mediating response to stress, the risk of developing depression, and chronic pain in both basic and translational research.

We expect you to be curious, dedicated, and open to challenges. Students will have their own projects and receive mentorship from the conception and design of the study, data collection, and analysis all the way to publication and career development.
